Dubai - Burj AL Arab "Diver" TVC

1. I've been to the Burj Al Arab three times and was there last month.  I love this commercial but something says it's not a real dive.  Yes, it looks good, but the tipoff is the cut when we see the diver falling through the atrium's opaque "sail" wall which faces the land, not the Arabian Gulf.  As the elevator to the SkyView Bar prevents light from passing from the sea through the hotel, it couldn't possibly be a shadow, so I'm guessing it is a confection.  But its a great confection!  Beautiful concept and killer music.  I love it.  Thanks!

5. Dear 'Six Flags', Many thanks for your comment. I directed this commercial for Alchemy Films and the music is not as you suggest "wrong" per se. This is the original composition for the commercial which was scored by a music production house in Dubai and was approved by the client. Adam Young's scored was a subsequent version composed for Alchemy Films. Just so you know... I would never use a piece of music on any of my films which was not an approved and cleared score. 13. @civiccruiser117 Of course it would. The height of the hotel is 1,053 feet. A jump, even from 1/4 that height could kill you. The highest dive that I'm aware of was set in 1985 at a height of 174 feet, 8 inches.

15. They should of played the song "Fireflies" by Owl City as he jumped into the water. Lots of teens then would want to visit because the hotel is on the album cover.
