Dubai attempt to stage the largest firework display in history on New Year's Eve will begin with a bang, a flash and a sequence of fireworks representing a flying falcon. A 225m-wide UAE flag, formed using technology with embedded computer chips for precise firing, will then rise 130m into the Dubai sky. Crowds will then be wowed as rockets in the form of a sunrise scene appear across the World Islands for almost 10km. Details of the six-minute sparkling spectacular Guinness World Record attempt were announced yesterday by Dubai Government Media Office. The bonanza will feature 400,000 fireworks, including Arabic and English digits for the new year countdown emblazoned across the sky over Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands.
