DM Healthcare dedicates the first Mobile Medical Clinic for the benefits of the people of UAE Initiates STRAP and BEAT campaigns in association with the Government of Dubai entities - DHA, DCAS and RTA The STRAP and BEAT campaigns are initiated in partnership with leading Government entities including Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). • DM Healthcare commits to promoting road safety in the region and extending free Basic Life Support (BLS) awareness training to 25,000 people as part of its 25th anniversary celebration. • DM Healthcare dedicates a Mobile Medical Clinic, Dr Aster Mobile -- "Care Beyond Boundaries", to the community with the aim to spread awareness on health issues and offer free primary medical care, wherever required United Arab Emirates, December 9, 2012: DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, has associated with Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) and Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to launch two key public awareness campaigns Safety Tips for Road Accident Prevention (STRAP) and Be Empathetic, Act Timely (BEAT), that aims to raise awareness on road safety, and educate people how to act on critical emergencies and situations. The campaigns are in continuation of DM Healthcare's commitment towards creating a healthier society. As part of the campaigns, DM Healthcare has launched the first Mobile Medical Clinic in UAE. The mobile clinic known as "Dr Aster Mobile" was launched today in line with the Group's commitment to offer 'Care Beyond Boundaries' as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations. The mobile clinic is well-equipped to offer primary care and basic lab investigation. The vehicle will travel across the country to offer free primary medical care, wherever needed. The vehicle will also be used in educating people on road safety and emergency first-aid care. The Mobile clinic was flagged off today by His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), at the Dubai Health Authorities premises. HE Eng. Al Maidoor, said: "At the DHA, prevention and public outreach is an important part of our strategy and the public health department within the DHA works at all levels in society to raise awareness about a host of lifestyle disease and its prevention methods. We liaise with the private sector for such initiatives and this campaign is an example of such collaboration. Working with the private sector and other government entities towards the same goal, will only help provide further impetus to this campaign and broaden its reach. "This initiative is special because we directly reach out to the community in their environment- whether it is at schools, universities or malls," he added. In addition to this initiative, the Group also announced the launch of two important public health awareness campaigns which will be carried out with the support of the government entities. The STRAP and BEAT campaigns were launched by senior officials of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Corporate for Ambulance Services (DCAS), in presence of Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare, Senior Officials from Govt. of Dubai entities and media. The campaigns are part of DM Healthcare's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. STRAP -- "Safety Tips for Road Accident Prevention", is a public information program, through which the Group intends to impart the message of road safety by raising awareness of risk and changing attitudes on the roads, thus trying to make the roads of the nation safer for all. BEAT -- "Be Empathetic, Act Timely", sessions aims to provide awareness training to people on Basic Life Support (BLS), emergency and first aid. Eng. HE Al Maidoor, said, " The STRAP campaign is essential given the prevalence of road accident cases in the UAE and the BEAT campaign which educates people on basic life support is extremely important for all members of society."
