A 25m wide automated projection screen flanked with a 3D projection mapped blended set along with two additional 10m wide projection screens, provided the digitally animated set for DU’s invited guests. Protec’s video specialist Peter Jones along with Automation specialist Lewis Calderwood used D3 servers with seven HD20k-J Christie projectors and the CPS motion control system to raise the central projection screen high enough to allow the band on a riser, to roll downstage from behind the screen smoothly. Protec’s concept design was built in-house with a custom screen fabric manufactured by Showtex. Protec’s integrated support saw the Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging, Automation, Backline, Staging and Design departments collaborating on another successful event for DU.
