The Middle Eastern hookah culture is an iatrical part of daily life in Dubai, just as it has been for hundreds of years. Called shisha in the GCC countries, triple or quadruple hosed hookahs are common for meetings or parties. I've been to smoke shops in America, even the hippie type shops that sell bongs, hookahs, and other smoking accessories. But I was totally blown away when I walked into this Shisha store in Dubai. The sheer selection of shishas is amazing, every conceivable color, size, or style was available. There are bare bones versions as well as decked out models full of hookah bling bling. It's nice to see the hookah tradition gaining popularity in America. Now, it's pretty easy to find a hookah lounge is most large American cities. It's a great way to unwind with friends on a warm summer night. The best part is that after a night at the hookah bar, you're still sober. That means no hangover the next day! Although I had pretty bad headaches the first few times I smoked the hookah. Since my luggage was pretty full, I couldn't buy a shisha from Dubai and bring it back home. On my next trip to the Emerite, I'm going to ask these guys if they can send it to the states FedEx or UPS.
