I'm calling it now: sometime in the near future there'll be a massive earthquake and either sink all those man-made islands or cause a massive tsunami that'll destory it all. When Man marvels at his own creations more than the Creator, God reminds them.

I know a dollar billionaire who drives one car, A Toyota Prius, and lives in 4 bedroom rented house with his wife and 3 children. He couldnt give a toss about all this expensive rubbish.

Im going out there on Friday. First time in 4 years. Cant stand the place. Jumeira is just like Manhattan except stinking hot, and with a filthy 14 lane highway running through it. At least Manhattan has some street life. The palm is just like some council estate by the sea with people living cheek by jowl for miles and miles. My business is in construction materials and so I get a close up view of how the labourers are treated. Verdict? Soulless shithole.

Buy a property in Dubai and the maintenance charges double every year. Sign an agreement and the contract means nothing. $50,000,000 on an island that is eroding away in the sea and the island has not been developed and the fact that Safi was convicted for his business dealings in Dubai and served time in jail. I have been to Dubai but was glad I did not get caught up in all the hype that Dubai throws around the world. Duty free gold that cost no less than anywhere else in the world, sand on the beaches that is too hot to walk on in the summer months, doing business with Arabs that has no truth or trust on agreements made...... stay well away from this place. Seedy, souless and your money is better spent in anywhere in the world other than here.
