Anyone else think the beginning shot was the Death Star at first glance?
-
Rio of Rio De Janeiro?
-
When Simon picks up the phone I always imagine it is of the Fisher Price plastic variety. Its not even plugged in. He'd have more luck calling her with 2 Dixie Cups on a string.
-
I can't believe I never appreciated stuff like this in the 80s! Compared to all this modern chart crap, this is like gold dust!
-
Sing Street brought me here though I liked Duran Duran before this
-
I never realized...
Leo Decaprio's Titanic scene was a Rio rip off all along.

BRENDAN:
You're gonna love this, Ma!
Yes!
Beautiful!
The jury's still out on which way these guys'll go, but they're a lot of fun. And John Taylor is one of the most proficient bass players in the UK at the moment -- gives them a really funky edge.
So I hope they're gonna go for it.
ROBERT:
Hey -- it's not exactly The Beatles, is it?
BRENDAN:
Oh, you know, will you go outside and start up the time machine there so we can all go back in time for Dad, Connor?
ROBERT:
Well, if this is the future, we're all screwed aren't we? I mean, look at this guy! He's not even singing live!
BRENDAN:
It's a video, Robert! It's art! Everybody's makin''em these days. Look at it!
ROBERT:
I mean, why can't they get them to play live? What are they tryin' to hide?
BRENDAN:
It's because they're in the USA. Didja not hear 'em?
And this lasts forever! It's the perfect mixture of music and visuals. It's short -- too the point. Look at it!
I mean, what tyranny could stand up to that? -
Sing Street, everyone?
