It's such hypocritical act in my mind. We want to save little bit energy for greener future but we don't realise the problem isn't spending energy since we got way more of it than we would ever need. The problem is purely RADIOACTIVE energy. We could use alternative methods and we wouldn't need to "save" any of it. No earth hour it's earth future! People need to start thinking cause of problem not how to "solve" a problem since we fucked it up in the first place.

couldn't agree more :D

why candles will also produce smoke!
-
the thing is most electricity in France is generated by nuclear energy so they may as well have left their lights on and they'd still be 'green'.
-
It was not meant to reduce energy by that much. It was used to raise awareness so more people will know about Earth Hour. Then next year more people will know about it. It has raised awareness as I did not know about it until now.

In our country everyday celebrating this
-
I can still see lights
-
Most of the lights shown on this video are not even needed! Whats the point in lighting up outside of a building or bridge? Very wasteful
-
1 hour? Why not 12 hours?
-
bullshit
-
turn off the light for one hour to reduce CO2 emissions and burn candles instead, also waste electricity for international media coverage of this event and broadcast it on television for at least 2 days after the thing, post it on youtube to be viewed multiple times for eternity also wasting electricity.
-
True, it won't do much considering it's only one hour in a whole year. But it's nice to know that were able to accomplish something like this and I hope it carry's on.

That wont do anything
