Dubai - Emirates Inaugural Flight Lands at Chicago O'Hare International Airport!! / Arrival 8/5/14

I've been waiting for the day that Emirates would announce the beginning of service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport KORD / ORD for many years now. You can imagine my elation when this day finally came!! Many other people were also eagerly awaiting this day and many of them came out to take their own pictures and video. Not everyone who wanted to be there to enjoy the inugural landing could be there, but I know I could feel them in spirit. I will make more videos of this flight in future, but for now this will have to do. IMPORTANT: This planespotting location is off-limits to the public. It is private property. Those people who appear in the video were allowed to be there based on the privledges of the ORD Airport Watch and are either members or were loosely invited. You can tell that it's the same landing since the same taxiing Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER can be seen in both videos. -

I actually flew from Zurich to Chicago the same day emirates flew to Chicago and I was happy to see the plane when I landed!

The interesting thing is that it feels like Emirates has serviced O'Hare all along, since they have a number of flights from DXB to other US airports, including Boston, New York JFK, and Washington Dulles on the east coast, Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston Intercontinental in the central US, and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle/Tacoma on the west coast. So, that's a lot of Emirates operations in the US.

Amazing catch! Emirates finally started service to the Windy City! Just one question. I went to Delta Cargo before and I didn't have a problem with security. So will they still allow me to go there or no. Thanks!
