Just a quick video to give you a rough idea of internet speed on-board an Emirates aircraft. I tested stuff.co.nz (News site in NZ), Updating Snapchat, Sending a snap and sending a message on facebook messenger. It wasn't too bad once a connection was established with that particular app. It's not great, but what do you expect 40,000 ft in the air. Emirates uses OnAir (http://www.onair.aero/) Allowing you to use your phone for calling, and texting as well as data... But roaming is too expensive so I'm not going to bother with that lol.
