Dubai - European Travel Skills Part II
Gebäude | Informationen | Videos | Emirates | Aussicht
In this second of three shows focusing on travel skills, we'll visit Venice, Siena, and the Cinque Terre in Italy to learn about trip planning, packing, safety, and — perhaps the most rewarding skill of all — connecting with the locals. Going beyond the sights, Rick shares some practical tips to help make European travel fun and hassle-free. © 2012 Rick Steves' Europe

Thanks love your shows I just got to the part where you opened your suit case. WOW I have never seen so much clothes !!!!! You really do carry that much. Now I can't do that. I just have the place that I buy things send it to a box someplace where I don't exactly live if I buy something. I also designed what I call "Spy" Cloths. Too funny actually it really is reversible and button up and change over and layered like you said with colors that don't wash out or into other cloths. I have two pairs of good shoes like you have and about 2 days worth of clothes. I have been known to sleep with my cloths on. Yes I don't want an earthquake or crazy party or something bad happens and running around without my clothes on. Learned that in College. I can wear this shirt 4 ways. These pants have leggings, then tighter pants then over pants after that wind pants put in a few slips of insulation (cold at night) and I am fine while other people even the locals are freezing to death. It may be easier for a women. I must say he dresses nice in Europe. I wear most of my clothes on me say if I take a plane and then I put the extra stuff in storage I might pass along the way. And then if I need it just buy it have some extra money you need it for fun for warmth. In the summer I go to a bath and wash my clothes in the sink never touch the sink is the rule ! Very important not to touch the faucet or the sink but get your clothes wet put them on (learned in cross country running 5 miles over sand dunes and on black roads in the heat). Yes I wear just wet clothes takes them 15 minutes to dry in a desert or 45 minutes to dry in a place that isn't too humid. I have them on they are clean now and I am much cooler trust me. Can also sleep in a fold out hammock in a room never touch the bed or put plastic rolls out on the bed. And put the cold clothes on lay there in 5 minutes you are asleep while other people are just sweating to death all night and tired for days. Ok so...... I sometimes buy clothes for little money and throw them out in the next state or country of next month and dress like everyone else. I like to fit in and stand out and be different only in genetics.....
