Fitness First Middle East has announced that select clubs across Dubai and Abu Dhabi including Motor City, DIFC, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Media City, Burjuman, Oasis Centre, Mirdif City Centre, Deira City Centre, Knowledge Village, Abu Dhabi Mall and Dalma Mall Abu Dhabi have introduced the revolutionary exercise tool -- MYZONE. The ultimate workout partner and motivation tool, MYZONE was first launched at Fitness First's Ibn Battuta club in February this year with great success. Since its roll out, the revolutionary device has helped committed exercise enthusiasts burn some 200 million calories over the past nine months, with October alone registering over 30 million calories. Data from the MYZONE database indicates that members have lost 4,414 pounds of fat (based on calories burnt) and used the device to work out for an equivalent of 1,286 days since its launch in February. The tool has been introduced at Fitness First clubs to encourage the UAE's residents to adopt and maintain a dedicated fitness regime. MYZONE is an innovative tool to measure, track and review progress. The accurate monitoring system in the form of a belt pushes users to apply increased effort at workout sessions. During exercise, it records real-time measurements of indicators such as the effort applied. Effort is measured in MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs) that accumulate for every minute of activity the user expends based on the maximum heart rate. The device also calculates calories burned and the duration of each workout session. When daily routines are completed, the results of the exercise session are automatically e-mailed to users (and also displayed live during workouts on TV screens throughout the club). The session outcomes are also saved on the cloud based account that serves as an online log book of physical activity in the form of a visual activity graph and comes in handy when tracking progress over time. Users can monitor positive health developments on a daily basis. They can also set personal goals and participate in effort-based competitions with peers.
