Dubai - Floating and caisson (piling) building foundations

This 5-minute video demonstrates the difference between floating foundations used on early Chicago school of architecture buildings, and the later caisson or pile foundations used as taller and taller skyscrapers were constructed. (This video is a condensation of an earlier version. (This revised version eliminates excess detail associated with pile drilling using large augurs, in order to make the presentation more suitable for non-technical audiences.)
