Second ceremony for the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government held at Dubai World Trade Centre. The ceremony awarded innovation by all standards to ‘City Builders’ who apply the best state-of-the-art technologies in service delivery. To illuminate this context, HQ Creative engaged with Protec in their creative development to exhibit the best state-of-the-art technologies in the visual industry. The task of building the Protec technical infrastructure required to stage the event was co-ordinated for HQ by Tony Peaker, working with his key Protec team including show control specialist Peter Jones, lighting designer Aaron Russ, automation and rigging specialist Lewis Calderwood and audio engineer Ed Ross. The stage centred on a 5m x 5m cube required to rotate though 180’ on a central axis, raise, lower and pitch during the show with all the movements working with and enhancing the tracking video content. The show’s projection system showcased technical regional firsts – employing Cast's Blacktrax system to provide consistent and precise image tracking, auto-calibrating a D3 media server.
