KUWAIT: With the director, Brigadier Ghazi Al-Mai and his assistant, Colonel Najeeb Al-Shatti, in attendance, the immigration detective teams resumed surprise inspection campaigns in Mangaf that resulted in the arrest of 120 persons on account of expired residency visa, working for people other than sponsors and domestic laborers who had absconded, security sources said. Commenting on the campaign, Al-Mai stressed that the Ministry of Interior was determined on carrying on with such efforts to track down and arrest outlaws and suspects. On its part, MOI's security media department stressed that these campaigns targeted those in violation of residency laws or working for people other than their sponsors, deserters, wanted people and fugitives. The security media department urged both citizens and expatriates to carry their IDs, drivers' licenses and car registration papers with them at all times to avoid detention, especially since all police patrols were now equipped with computers and access to the ministry's database to check anyone's legal status.

This is absurd and downright inhumane. You attack those people who first of all are brought in on false promises, then are held as slaves because they cannot hold their own passport while their salaries are being withheld, and lastly are forced to work at hours when clearly they are not supposed to. So basically these people do NOT have a fair chance to be represented and are completely robbed out of their limited livlihood and sent back home all because they do not have proper papers. Shouldn't the companies hiring them be brought to justice? Oh no they won't because they are all run by Kuwaitis. Where is the Human Rights Watch on this? Of course not around because they are all paid out. Some are saying about American and British expats paying for visa extension, well such are taken care of by their employers who hire them. Such is not the case with these Asian expats. The ones who should be jailed are the crooks bring these Asian laborers here. It will not happen because once again they are Kuwaitis and Kuwaitis can do as they please with who they want. Funny and ironic how this country is allied with the worst war criminals in the world, the U.S. and UK allowing them to do as they please.

In Kuwait if you haven’t done anything wrong or even if you’re innocent you will still probably end up spending a night in jail, do you know why? Reason being you haven’t got any WASTA. Why haven’t they arrested any American or European like this in public? Because they want to target low earning people. I believe in Karma, (One day you will be treated in the same way how you are treating other people) See what happened in IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN. DUBAI is the only safest place for expatriates.

These Kuwaitis need to educate themselves and learn the difference between an INDIAN, PAKISTANI and BENGALADESHI..Kuwaiti thinks they’re all the same and treat them as one. . We Indians are NOT Pakistanis or Bengladeshi so don’t treat us as one. I have spent 2 years in UAE, 1 year in Bahrain and almost 10 years in Kuwait and I can tell you today that Kuwait is the only country that mistreats all expatriates. Kuwaitis treat Indian, Pakistani and Bengladeshi as their slaves.
