The Interstate Highway System was one of America's most revolutionary infrastructure projects. It also destroyed urban neighborhoods across the nation. So, highways are racist. Got it.
-
They destroyed a highway in Boston for no reason??? Traffic must be hell there
-
2:13 jeez, slow down
-
What are white people supposed to do? Stay in the cities?
-
2:29 is what happens to me every friday night. When i go out the bar.

I bloody hate it when whatever is narrated is slammed onto the screen, one word at a time. If I needed subtitles I would use them.

How fitting, a car advertisement preludes this video.

The solution: eventually telecommuting will be technologically viable. Then, cities will collapse, value wise, and rural areas will explode. A lot of us have already made the move. I'm in IT and live on a 32 acre "hobby" farm in south central KY. I moved here from Seattle, where I lived for 46 years and worked in IT for 27 years. The internet, VPN and VDI make it all possible. I no longer have to deal with cities, and Amazon and COSTCO online are all I need. :)
Cities steal your soal, and are are SOOOO second millennium. :D -
My god that's the worse background music ever

As much as my mom complains about Robert Moses while driving though NYC, i was fully expecting him to get a mention here :-) i have to listen to a version of this video every single time she drives around the city...

Get a motorcycle and use the HOV lane.. BWAAHAAHAHHAHAA Cagers!
-
Only vox would make an inanimate object like highways somehow racist. Also highways didn't destroy cities, they grew them and allowed millions of people to connect
-
Inner city neighborhoods are still poor, and replacing 80+ year old homes with landscaping doesn't explain how highways have wrecked cities. Great job with the click bait. I was expecting to see a reason why cities are better without highways, and how that might actually work. The main idea of the video is basically ignored and instead this video focuses on racial warfare. Hey Vox, since you love to hate racism, why don't you talk about what we can do to improve the world and unite our species, rather than adding more fuel to the fire?
-
So the US built interstate highways due to RACISM, not in order to move goods and military materiel more efficiently across the continent? This is the dumbest explanation I've ever heard. So if this idiotic theory is true, why did other countries -- like homogeneous European countries? -- build interstates also? And let's note very carefully the narrator's biases in selecting the Democratic Stronghold of Detroit as an example of cities "ruined" by interstates. Right, like Detroit wasn't ruined by 50 years of Democrats' failed economic policies. GTFO you stupid asses.
-
They said "white people". TRIGGERED! Anti-SJWs are so sensitive now.
-
Next on Vox: Whites invented the car to oppress Blacks.
-
So now building the highway network was bad... sigh. Always blaming Whites for everything.
-
So does a highway through my property make me poor then?
-
More left wing nonsense, anything that has personal freedom attached to it is automatically evil in the eyes of liberal socialists. Public transport at the expense of car users, more government control.
