There are many times when I am at home and need to work on something on my systems at the office. With this setup I can use RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) and Remote Desktop Connection software to connect to my work computer from home (or from a hotel if I'm travelling). Or, I can log in to my PC at home from the office if need be. You cannot take over another desktop this way and allow another user to watch what you are doing. If you need that capability, then you need a paid third party service like LogMeIn. http://www.appdataworks.com
