http://draxe.com Plantar Fasciitis plagues many people, especially runners, but it doesn't have to. There are some simple things you can do to prevent and cure plantar fasciitis forever. 4 Secret to Curing Plantar Fasciitis: 1. Deep tissue work on the affected area -You can get a professional massage or simply use a tennis ball, baseball, or rolling pin under the foot to deeply massage and stretch the tendon. -The deep tissue massage will help break up the scar tissue and relax the muscle. -Do this massage 2-3 times per day for about 2-5 minutes. 2. Stretching -Find a set of stairs to lean against and deeply stretch the plantar tendon. 3. Nutrition and Supplements -Certain nutrients can help relax tendons: a. Magnesium: the #1 nutrient for healing plantar fasciitis -Recommended Dosage: 500 mg/day (before bed) b. Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): helps to relax the muscle and heal the plantar tendon c. Fish Oil: great source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids d. Vitamin C: help with the absorption of Vitamin B5 -Consume an anti-inflammatory diet, like my Healing Foods Diet: draxe.com/healing-diet/ 4. Strengthening the muscles of the feet -One of the main causes of plantar fasciitis is wearing the wrong type of shoes, which causes the muscles in the feet to weaken. -Walking barefoot or wearing barefoot shoes (such as Vibrams) helps strengthen the tendons, calf muscle, arches, and muscles in the feet. Ease your way into wearing barefoot shoes. Thanks Josh. Does this apply to children too? My 12-yr old daughter has fascitis. Can she use your suggestions?

How much Pantothenic Acid should I be taking?? Is it 500 milligrams (along w/the 500 milligrams of Magnesium?)?? I've got some PF that's just killin' me right now!

This really works! Have had plantar fasciitis very mildly in one foot for ages, but have had it very badly in the other foot for about a week (I have a lumbar scoliosis, so I think I don't walk evenly, which gets worse as I get older) Have been in agony, started these exercises etc 2 days ago and I can walk without pain! It hasn't completely gone yet, but is much relieved. Thank you.

Wonderful and very informative video! Thank you very much Dr. Axe. God bless.

May I ask what the shoes are called (I understood "Mero" and can't find anything on them)?

TJ Maxx has a sort of "rolling pin" specifically for your feet though. you can find it in the sports section and in the facial/body care section. it kinda looks like a large plastic hour glass type of deal. it's really affordable about $6-$8 and you can put it in the freezer if you want. hope this helps 😀

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.... :)

I found after healing my plantar, insoles that fit properly helped drastically with foot problems including platar fasciitis. custom insoles can be expensive and I couldnt afford another $400 on custom molded insoles. I made a video on DIY Custom Silicone Orthotics which shows how to make custom molded silicone insoles for under $10. They helped me a lot!

I gotta say that it KILLS me to walk barefoot!

Do you actually roll your foot on the actual spot where the soreness is , or do you roll the tennia ball under your arch?
-
guys, these exercises also work for testicles
-
Take turmeric with black pepper. It helps. The pain is gone in a 4-th day.
-
i'm using an aerosol can instead of a rolling pin lol

Dr Axe, I have this in both feet. I have always favored walking barefoot or wearing sandles. After doing this for years, as I got older I noticed my feet started hurting. Its terrible now. It hurts in my arches, the sides and the front of my foot. So knowing that, how is walking barefoot a good thing when we are walking on hard surfaces most of the time?

I work on SUPER flat concrete floors 12 days straight ( 8+ hours M-F and
12+ hours Sat-Sun) before getting a mere 3 days off. I have developed
very real heel pain. Shots, anti-inflam pills, the night boot, "custom"
orthotics, new shoes and compression socks - nothing works. Wore Puma
Roma's my whole life (a very flat shoe) without issue. Started getting
pain 3 months after starting working here. I'd like to try the barefoot
approach, but I'm wary due to the flat concrete floors. Will this be an
issue?
