Dubai - How to handle parking in new Dubai? Residents drive the debate

No sooner had the RTA's Traffic and Roads Agency has finalised the implementation of the paid parking system in Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge Village, earlier this year, than residents of, and visitors to, a swathe of areas across New Dubai -- including Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) were in a parking conundrum. Paid parking zones, reserved parking spaces designated for employees, limited parking time and a host of changes has meant major adjustments to life in these much-sought after living and leisure areas. What do residents and visitors feel about the changes? For example, JLT's two-hour parking rule may be understandable, but is the Dh 200 fine for breaking it justified?
