before using the e-gate, activate your Skywards card for this function as described here: http://www.emirates.com/english/help/faq/1127040/how-do-i-activate-my-emirates-skywards-e-gate-card (this can be done at several service desks at Dubai airport) to pass the E-Gate 1) hold your activated Skywards card up against the sensor 2) scan your boarding pass 3) enter the E-Gate 4) follow instructions on the screen for scanning fingerprints 5) have a safe journey!
