Thanks for the Metallica!

The whole world now uses the metric system, except the US. Why are you guys being so stubborn about the the old imperial system? Not even the britts themselves use it anymore.
I sometimes get smug comments like "...you know the system used used by the only nation to ever put a man on the moon"
Yeah, using the metric system. -
Those spiked Danners were nuts. I don't think the wife would approve of those on my pair

Cody I am so glad that U said what U did at the very end.... Totally reminded me of one of my dear Moms sagely advice statements that she drilled into us kids!!! And it still makes great sense even 60 years later! I was in the Construction business and some German and Great Brittian equipment that had these same problems and I had to be the design engineer to get things sorted out with solutions... Very time consuming. You are doing just fine way out there.... In LA or the SF bay area it would have still been fun but more options closer by to get parts...

there is a proper way to use a crescent wrench and the way you have them is opposite of correct. you will make your wrench weak the way you are opening the claw with the pressure you are applying. always put the adjustable piece where it is not in the heaviest load bearing of the wrench bite. this explains it.

should have gotten a green tractor.... LOL

hii I hope I'm able to help you with an advice. Next time you should go to a big automobile factory if you need anything for a hydraulic system. The maintenance should have all the stuff you need.

Don't know how he stayed that cool

Long-time subscriber but I haven't commented in a while, I just wanted to say thanks for the great example you were in this video. I know how frustrating these things are and you just want so badly to do some work but you spend a whole day or more tinkering on one thing after another. You showed restraint and maturity on the video. I realize you may have been more aggravated off camera, but many men would have said much more on camera. I get so much value from the tools and project videos from the channel but I've found over the last couple years I get far more important reminders like patience and restraint and gentleness toward my wife and daughters.
Thanks for that! -
Thanks for being Real! After hearing you talk about the film crew idea, I know for a fact your Real! So many on YouTube lie and pretend their something their Not! Had a few people get mad at me because I wouldn't lie, cheat and steal to make a YouTube video, I just make them on occasion now!

Cody, teflon tape does three things actually:
1) it seals the threads
2) it lubricates the threads
3) it prevents steel threads from rusting together ( at least it is supposed to ) like using it for water lines to sinks, toilets etc.
The only threads or fittings that do not need teflon tape is brass to brass, but I've always put it on to be double sure. Also, and this is IMPORTANT! there are different types of teflon tape and you can tell by the COLOR. White is used for water plumbing applications while YELLOW IS USED FOR NATURAL, PROPANE GAS LINES. If you do plumbing work and it has to be inspected, if you do not have yellow tape on your gas lines they will tell you to take the lines apart and start over. If and when you use yellow tape you can fell how different it is from the white tape. When I was in the field we quit carrying white tape and just used yellow tape. When using yellow tape since it is thicker you do not have to use as much and I never had a problem with leaks. I just to let everyone know as a MATTER OF SAFETY to use the correct teflon tape so GAS LEAKS DO NOT HAPPEN. -
23mm! WOW! If you don't know what you are talking about don't make videos.

BSPP is actually quite common in high pressure hydraulics. The O-ring seal is very reliable. (BSPP is not metric BTW)
