Dubai - In This Mall, Holograms Of Disabled People Appear If You Try To Park In Their Space
Gebäude | Informationen | Videos | Emirates | Aussicht
More than 30% of the drivers in Russia take disabled parking spaces without caring about the signs on the ground. Dislife, a Russian non-profit organisation, came up with a powerful campaign to stop this inconsiderate behaviour. They installed projections of a real disabled person that popped up every time a non-disabled driver tried to park in their space. Special cameras verified the presence of the disabled sticker on their windshields and if no sticker was detected, the hologram would appear to confront the driver. I like this a lot. I think it educates people that people with disabilities exist and to respect their rights.
-
That is SO FREAKING COOL!!!
-
I get the idea, but most people that park in handicap spaces illegally will still do it anyway. Plus not all people that are disabled are in wheelchairs.
-
or it´s like we have it in austria. 5% of the parking spaces are for disabled, but 100% of these are free everytime i drive to a mall, and everytime nearly all the other spaces are blocked allready, but the 8 disabled at every entrence are free everytime.

More than 30%? Really? 95% is closer to the truth.
-
well strange they found not disabled people in the motherland ... I always thought that all of the suka bliyat udar pavarot biridaca nation are invalid ... youtube would have been much worse and boring without them... street rage car accidents are the only video coming from them ... strange fact they didn't get of the car to break-steal or have a fight with the camera or someone ... thank you ruski people for making youtube such a nice place :)

Why not just have a barrier raise up when it detects no handicap pass? And actually stop the people from parking.
-
What about people with invisible disabilities? Not everyone who is disabled has a wheelchair. And not everyone who has a wheelchair uses it everyday. As much as this is a good concept I fear it will only increase stigma
-
we need that in america
-
I love this, though I wish they wouldn't have reinforced the idea that only people in wheelchairs need these spaces. Still pretty awesome though.
-
Largest mall in Europe? I don't think anyone really considers Russia as a part of Europe... :D

As a guy who uses a wheelchair another concern of mine is how easy it is to obtain a disabled parking placard or sticker at the DMV. Seems like everyone and their best friend has one these days. It is getting very difficult for me to find available parking spaces. Sometimes I feel like people are given parking placards just for showing up with a bruise or a scratch on their knee. If the government is to make it so easy then they need to create MORE disabled parking zones. A lot more.
-
there are way to many such spots.
-
If they can spot the violation, they should be able to follow up the hologram with a nice parking violation sent to the owner's home to reinforce the message with something real.
-
Fake as f*ck, hologram ???? with a simple projector....... holograms like this don't exist yet.... FAKE FAKE FAKE
-
we need this in America- very nice!
-
Brilliant.
-
Not only in Russia! I dont like this but, why is the vid not only in Russian? Looks like its not made to be seen by Russians!!! Dont you think?
-
I love what they did, I hate that it was necessary

If the camera can recognise a car without the tag, why doesn't it just snap the photo for the rego to issue a fine? Or send an alert to a parking inspector to give a ticket or have the car towed?
