Silent film (Audio dubbed by me) by Mr. Gary Schenauer. Brief, but RARE footage of classic airliners on the ramp at JFK in 1967, including the Boeing VC-137B, the "Secondary Air Force One", and Lufthansa "Rolls Royce" B-707 Intercontinental! Fantastic video. I can remember sitting there and watching all those aircraft. Great job putting all these videos together!!!!!!!

This is incredible footage..50 years ago?...and the Air Force one parked at a gate??..this is the era of the first Jets, the DC-8,DC-9 and B 707,727..and the surviving Metropolitans....Kennedy airport looked like this for decades...

If all of these aircraft were still flying today I'm pretty sure that's the aircraft that attracts people instead of the absolutely popular B777 where you can see all day

I made a trip to NYC one year before this video was made. I flew into Newark, though (from Houston via Atlanta). I flew a Delta Convair 880, which will always be my favorite aircraft. It was a four-engine hot rod that poured out more smoke than any other commercial aircraft. It was extremely noisy on the outside, but super quiet inside. When the engines were cut back on approach, it was total silence. I made another trip on the same aircraft in 1971. That time, I flew back from JFK. Anyone else ever fly the 880?

The Sarrin building and Air Force 1. cool.

A Lockheed Constellation in the background towards the end. I cannot tell whether or not it's a Super Connie.
-
I'd like to ask a question. What is your favorite aircraft?
-
Braniff gets you there with Flying Colors!

1967, when you could buy an airline ticket, pay cash for it and it was none of the government's business what your name was or where you were going. What's happened to poor Armerica? That's also back when airlines had to compete for your business and had not been merged into a few huge monopolies that treat their passengers like cattle.
