Further down the road we often forget some of the amazing experiences in our lives, so we have started documenting our trips. Video brings all the memories back and it’s something we can keep forever. We’ve given boy / girl takes of the Maldives. Erin; It's untrue there's nothing to do in the Maldives, during our 12 night stay we had something to do every day. Getting around you can call a buggy or ride your bike. The spa offers a 3 or 7 day package, individual packages & hair/nail salon. The Dive center offers: Scuba diving, kite surfing, seabob’s, kayaking, seadoo's, yacht rentals, speed boat trips to snorkel on another island and see different coral & fish, swim with turtles & watch dolphins. Snorkel gear is provided for you for the duration of your stay. Restaurants include: Sea;Underwater restaurant open for breakfast lunch & dinner. Fire;Japanese restaurant offering sushi and teppanyaki. Salt;asian cuisine & Plates;Breakfast buffet. Additionally, they had a dinner buffet with tables set up on the beach, local bands would come and entertain whilst you ate under the stars. There’s a main bar with infinity pool where you can watch the sunset and lounge on the day bed suspended over the shallow shaded lounge pool, snacks & beverages served there 24/7. Our room was the perfect private retreat, views of the beautiful Indian Ocean from your bed, a day bed that had ocean views, his & hers closets, suspended rocking day bed on our patio, outdoor table that is perfectly set by staff when ordering room service, sun chairs on the lower deck with umbrella where you can get a nice tan and cool off either in your pool or take a few steps off your deck into the warm ocean waters, seeing marine life as soon as you dunk your head... a turtle or reef shark is common place. The bathroom is expansive with his & hers sinks, outdoor shower, indoor shower that looks down into the ocean & pool deck, bathtub with a glass bottom, you can even watch the fish from the toilet where there is an additional glass bottom. Turn down service comes whilst you're away, drapes are drawn and relaxing music on when you walk in. They will even draw a candlelit bath if you desire. It's the perfect place for a couple in love, everything you need is provided for and it’s so romantic. The service is outstanding, we loved every bit of our stay. Before going to the Maldives we had no idea of where to stay, so for two days straight we researched extensively, every Google review on most of the islands in the Maldives. The people are genuine & friendly. The sea plane ride is only 30min with stunning views. Upon arrival on the island you are introduced to your "host", ours named Risan. He gave us a Maldivian mobile phone to call him 24 hours a day, for anything. There are 310 staff on the island, guest capacity is 200 so generally speaking there's a 2:1 or 1.5:1 staff to guest ratio. Everything is extremely expensive in the Maldives. Plus plus or ++ adds service charge and local tax to everything. Jet skis for 295 USD each + the guide + the ++ means $1k (a thousand bucks) for 1hr of jet skis. Meals are about $250-$750 for two depending where you eat. For 2 weeks expect a $10-$20k bill on top for food & activities. Expensive but if you want serenity, seclusion & top service, there's not many places better than the Maldives. You can snorkel right out of your water villa onto the flat low sand tide sea bed. Swim 5 mins & you hit the coral or the house reef. If you swim another 4 minutes over the coral, you reach the island ledge. Stunning fish, some of the prettiest clown, butterfly & parrot fish I've ever seen. I recommend buying a local book of fish on the island, learn the different types as some can be harmful. I came close to a giant stingray several times. None of the marine life are aggressive so it’s safe as long as you’re sensible. Taking either the jet skis or the speed boat to the neighbouring islands is not to be missed, checkout the video clip where we stumble upon shallow sandbars & lush green uninhabited islands. Truly stunning. From the WV, you do feel as if you can see the curvature of the earth when you centre your gaze, you feel on top of the world.
