Maybe, in the future new land will be created by manipulating tectonic plates. But we will need to achieve a Type 1 civilization on the Kardashev Scale for that to occur!
-
you must be the fortune teller, can you check mine also .....
-
FAKEEEEE
-
This is absurd, why create an island for decoration when you can make one for a purpose.
-
I particularly like the way that (most of them) look utterly natural from orbit, but are crisply artificial when you look at them closely. It's the best of both: natural and art.
-
Fun concepts, but a lot would fall apart in reality. Especially... what was it, Turkey, right at the end of a waterway connecting two big seas. Shipping companies ain't gonna like all that extra stuff un the way :P Still, as I said, fun to see in the concept stage.
-
but making islands would change where shoores are and would change how weather reacts to a certain area, so we would be shifting around with the earth's natural weather and air currents. Though, I could be rambling meaninglessness right now.
-
as long as people arent against it the planet could use some tattooing as long as it is tastefully done and approved by the members of their country.
-
"And maybe far in the future... a man-made continent... right next to R'lyeh"
-
Pretty cool, the great lakes don't really work because of all the shipping routes it would mess up and putting it in superior wouldn't make very many people happy
-
Awesome your idea though of Lake Michigan having that big of islands, idk, I'd prefer it without them. Superior is bigger, maybe they should be there.
-
You are wrong: the new continent should be in the form of Awesome Face!! To tell the Aliens of how Awesome Earth is! Nice work of the islands =) And I agree that, if there is going to build new man-made Islands, they too will have complex designs, for tourist and that, just like Dubai. I can't wait for an "Eagle-Eating-Snake-over-a-Nopal" in the Gulf of Mexico XD And an "Awesome Face" continent in where Atlantis was supposed to be XD

@cornmon As I told to OrionRaw, this is based in the actual Palm Islands of Dubai. They have beautiful shapes to make them special, and to atract media and tourism. Also, there is another reason to make them so intrincate... the islands are full of houses that offer "private beaches", and to achieve a huge number of those houses, is necesary to increase the shoreline so much as possible... and the best way is to create islands with very complicated shapes.
-
@OrionRaw You are right... But this animation is just an exaggeration of the Palm islands in Dubai, which are real, and some other projects of islands with crazy shapes (The Pearl Qatar, The World Dubai, etc). If nowadays this can be done... you know.
-
why do they have to be intricate shapes, why cant they just make a few square islands for housing, industries, and population control..
-
Great Job!!!
-
lol lupa capitolina!
-
@yaelypower Yes, everything I do is just phantasy... so of course is unrealistic. But the islands of Dubai are real... The islands design are not done by me... they are icons of different cultures or places. I took the icons and modelated them to enhance their beauty as islands. I apreciate your critics. Thanks for watching the video!!!
-
So beutiful!!!!! did you draw all of the designs yourself???? I LOVE IT! but the idea itself is .....i'm not too sure, i think it may be a little unrealistic and would probably fail.
-
@T0R0YD Oh, i like it, just... I don't belive some man-made islands in Poland. :)
