Recently one of Lebanese restaurants in Dubai invited us to try their food and prepare a review of it. We love Middle Eastern food, although we can't say that we love all of it. there are various tastes and some of those cuisines are closer to our taste than the other. This time we were invited to Lebanese restaurant called Manoushe Street, which means Gypsy Street. Overall, here are 16 branches of Manoushe street in Dubai. The atmosphere here is comfortable and pleasant, there is also a children's corner. This place is more of a cafe than a restaurant. We liked the idea that children can spend some quality time here, cook, bake, and be entertained. In this review, we will evaluate every dish we tried. we will also compare it with similar dishes in other lebanese cafes and restaurants. Location of the restaurant is quite good, it is located in Dubai Marina. This branch has just opened in Marina. It is good for a quick bite, and the prices are reasonable. They also have a good variety of salads. The restaurant manager welcomed us, told us about the menu and about their far-reaching plans. We decided to start with the appetizers, and then move on and try shawarma, which was heavily promoted by the manager. For us, the main indicator of good food quality is the feeling of our stomachs after meals and throughout its assimilation. So, let's move on to appetizers. According to the cafe, appetizers in Lebanese cuisine mean the festival of eastern yogurt, creamy hummus, and nine types of cakes such as snacks, spinach, tomatoes, cheese and seasoning them. There were cheese and meat pies. A distinctive feature of middle eastern snacks is that they can easily fill you, so you have to be careful. Honestly, we were not impressed by the snacks. Very honestly, Syrian snacks seemed to be more interesting. Everything was quite sour. This sour taste was everywhere, even hummus. If you like sour food, then head over there straight away. If not, then.. well you got it. For starters Manush gets 3.5 points. Next on teh table were sausages in a pan with the sauce. Now these ones are very nice, definitely try them out. We ate all of them and could eat more. Bread is very good, fresh and hot. Compared to starters, sausages and bread get 5. In the meanwhile the chidlren were very busy with cooking their own pizza. This is a good marketing idea undertaken by manoushe, ensuring that there will always be clients in this branch, as there is something interesting for teh kids. For arranging the children friendly and entertaining environment, Manush gets 4.5 points. Next one was shawarma. In one of our previous reviews we tried the best shawarma in Dubai, which was in Yamal Al Shams. Another good shawarma that we had was in Baku, around 15 years ago, then it was much tastier. HOwever the shawarma at Manoushe did not leave this wow impression on us, therefore I give this dish 3.5. we had to look for the meat in it, and if we could find just a bit more of meat pieces we would give it 4, but it is what it is. The usual shawarma, friends. In the end, we tried some desserts, which was not such an easy task after all the food we tried. We've chosen good old kunefe. we lived in Turkey for four years and we know how tasty the turkish kunefe is. This one was quite dietic and dry, with plenty of cheese - not for everyone, i would say. It was not sweet at all, I mean it had syrup on the side but again, sipping it into the syrup made our fingers sticky and the taste was like dipping the bread into the syrup, as there was not much taste in kunefe at all. So, anyway, the cheesy part wasn't bad, so we give this dish 3.5. In addition we had black currant cheesecake, which was not bad at all - and it gets 4.5. We decided not to show the green tea which we had alongside with desserts, as it was in paper cups, not the most glamourous scenery. The interior of the café is quite nice. We liked how they put the tiles on the tables, a nice idea, the overall décor was good, and gets 4.5 Overall, the atmosphere in the café is cozy, our stomachs felt good and not heavy at all, which was important. In addition to that they have Good prices and children’s corner, and therefore we give the restaurant overall 4. The management of the café should pay more attention to the taste of their dishes and to the service. Sometimes, we had to remind the waiters about the dishes that we ordered, couple of times we waited for so long that we had to actually go and ask for our order. If the management pays attention to these two areas the taste and the service, they have chance to become one of the favourite places of Dubai Marina’s residents and guests.
