A home grown review, how nice!

How safe is the quick release ? I have seen some (ordinary tripods) where the quick release doesn't hold the camera firmly and there are chances that the camera might just fall off if there is a heavy lens. I want to use this with Nikon D600 + 14-24mm lens when I travel or when I go for Himalayan trekking..

there's probably a good reason why we can't, but.............as it tilts back 30degrees and forward 90 deg' could we not ''reverse the camera, and turn the tripod around ?? therefor having the effect of it pointing upwards 90 and downwards 30,(if say, you wanted to take the moon or stars ) it's hard to explain and probably hard to understand !
I'm expecting some embarrassing answers "! ! ! ! -
if you take out the centre column and insert it from underside of the head you can then get your camera mm from the ground, albeit upside down but hey just rotate the photo when its printed.

Hello, is it possible to secure the 804RC2 head on your tripod with the 3 screws that is on the head mount of most manfrotto tripods? thanks for your answer!

Grazie per questo video, molto completo

Thank you!

one more view, thanks ;-)

Thanks for the comment, yes for video it is difficult to pan to get a smooth movement. I believe Manfrotto has a new system that is made for video recording with a much larger arm to get a more smooth movement.

I can recommend it a lot. I have it now over 3 years and it is still rock solid! Great quality and very stable, a bit on the heavy side, but if you don't buy something out of carbon fibre this is what it is. My recommendation for Manfrotto for sure.

You are most welcome. I still have to do a review about my Gorilla Pod and another Manfrotto Monopod. The reviews will come soon. Stay tuned.

I'm looking for a tripod head that is suitable for macro use and the 804RC2 might just be the ticket. It is a bit heavier than I am really looking for but at the moment I do not see any lighter-weight alternatives that will give me a solid base for the camera to sit on. I already have a Manfrotto monopod and certainly its a very well design and durable product.

Thank you for the comment. I will be making soon a review of one of the Manfrotto Monopods and a low-budget slider dolly for videography. Stay tuned.

Very good review. I appreciate your effort :)
