Dubai, one of the most fascinating and most recognizable cities in the world. At least when looking at the brochures. But this movie marks the start of a series which will show you much of Dubai as it really is, from your typical perspective, in real time. From Deira and the Old town, with busy narrow streets, to Marina and JBR, with some of the most spectacular constructions in the world. In this first, teaser-movie, I will show you the Al Mamzar (public) Beach. A beautiful stretch of sand bordering Sharjah emirate. Free to visit and use, but with not much to enjoy, other than the sand. However, if you want more shade, nature and fun, there's the Al Mamzar Beach Park nearby. A really beautiful place and, for me, the best beach in Dubai (comparing with Jumeirah Public Beach and Marina Beach). Still, you should check them all out and pick your own favourite. Sadly, depending on where you are, Al Mamzar can be quite complicated to get to and require a lot of time in the coast-stretched Dubai. Special greeting goes to: people not afraid of the Sun. It's still fuelling the life on Earth an while excessive exposure can be bad or risky, there's really no reason to run in panic whenever you see it. During my stay, the daily highs were 37-40 Celsius (in the shade, yes), but I would still go for long walks and 100+ km bike rides and was perfectly fine. Although not at all being used to such climate. So, don't be afraid of the Sun and remember that sweating, especially while doing sports and being active, just means your body is working properly. You should really let it, from time to time. This movie also marks the day my MTB Street view series went intercontinental! Have to say i feels really good. Croatia was the first international ride, Italy was the first in EU and now United Arab Emirates is my first intercontinental. Wow. Who would've thought.... Filmed in April 2014.
