Navi Mumbai International Airport is a proposed greenfield international airport, to be built in the Kopra-Panvel area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is the nodal agency for the project which will be built through public–private partnership (PPP) on a 'design, build, finance, operate and transfer' (DBFOT) basis. The airport project, aimed at easing air traffic congestion at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, has been delayed due to property disputes. The project, spread over 1,160 hectares, still has 247 hectares left to be acquired that is being negotiated between the government and the project affected people (PAP) from five villages. They are yet to accept the government's compensation. CIDCO, however, floated a global request for qualification (RFQ) for the project on 5 February 2014. The private sector partner will hold 74% equity in the airport while the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and CIDCO each holding 13%.

Tomorrow this is going to become the real Gateway of India should we put bit more thought and make it better, shouldnt inside be like palace on wheels each section looking like different attraction of India?

Banao Chutiya, indians are living in video games this shit is still happening for past 25 years, between that period China has developed like crazy and here we are stuck with developing one airport, yeah sre we can catch up with China in another billion years or may be even never!! Reservation(for people who already earn well above average), Corruption,State Agents fooling people.etc that's it i am packaging my bag and moving to Canada, no one respect the skills you bring to the table, but all they want is experience!

it's more of a property body up than a reality -

This project will complete in maximum 25 years before that we will not be there to see it.

Govt. needs to pull up its socks and make sure that airport is operational by 2020. else number of flights from current mumbai will remain constant and it will affect mumbai's growth to some extent. few years back mumbai was the busiest airport and now delhi is the busiest airport india. many airlines want to increase number of flights from mumbai to various domestic and international destinations, but due to unavailability of slots, most of the airlines are unable to add new flights. on the other hand delhi and bangalore are attracting huge number of new flights every month, indigo being the number one when it comes to addition of new flights from these cities
