The Marwood Group is a health-care-focused financial services and asset management firm with offices in New York City, Washington, D.C., and London. The firm was founded in 2000 by UNC-Chapel Hill alumnus John T. Moore '88 and his partner Ted Kennedy, Jr. with the goal of creating transparency and identifying unique investment opportunities in the U.S. health-care marketplace for institutional and corporate investors. Today the Marwood Group has 110 employees and provides services to hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity firms, health-care companies and hospital systems. Every summer, the Marwood Group hosts approximately 20 University student interns in its New York City and D.C. offices. Two sponsors of the internships, Moore and T.J. Modzelewski '00, see their support of this program as a way of giving back. The program gives students exposure to the big cities, opening their eyes and helping them make the transition from being a student to working in the "real world." Moore and Modzelewski have found that their interns from UNC-Chapel Hill are confident, open, willing and some of the strongest they see. The UNC Marwood interns leave their summer experience feeling equipped, inspired, empowered and grateful. Through annually supporting the Marwood Group Summer Internship Program, Moore and Modzelewski have found a great way to stay connected to Carolina, and you can too. Support from University alumni, students, parents and friends is essential to provide programs and experiences such as the Marwood internships. Please consider supporting any school, unit or program you care about in order to stay connected with UNC and to inspire our students and faculty to continue to do great things.
