GeoMovie /company: GeoBank GeoBank released GeoMovie on June 13th, a web application that enables the user to choose their driving route by utilizing the application's live-action images of city blocks and roads combined with a two dimensional map. GeoMovie is a web application tool which lets the users watch guided motion pictures comprised of live-action images of city blocks and roads, leading them to their destination. With GeoMovie, a marker, on the map, showing the "current position," works in coordination with the live-action images,and aerial photos, allowing users to change view points of the live-action images. GeoMovie incorporates the main roads, as well as alleys in residential areas. The control features include: route selection at each intersection, a marker on the map that the user can coordinate with the images, replay, stop, fast forward, and rewind. As of June, 2007, the covered area includes 9 "ku" (districts) in Tokyo including Minato-ku and Shibuya-ku. One of its main features is that it covers 90 percent of the roads within its set area The introductory fee depends on the type of use. For use, such as road navigation from a train station to your destination, it costs 21,000 yen for providing a one URL per route. It costs 525,000 yen (tax included) for an area covering one square kilometre. Sales of 1500 routes are forecasted by the end of the year.
