Dubai - Qatar Airways from JFK airport terminal 8 [New York] to old Doha airport, Qatar.

I was flying from New York city on the B777 to Qatar before Hamad airport was opened. On the way to Doha with my friend I had a very nice dinner which was Chicken and for Breakfast I had Sausage. The inflight meal is provided by Flying Foods Catering. After disembarking we had to take the bus to the terminal. While at the Check in there was a short wait. There was a short wait during boarding. Many of the Passengers on board were from India.

Took this flight on April 2015. The seat pitch is ok. Service is good. But food suks!! Food suks that even food in American based airlines taste better. Food was dry as sand. The headphone is old 2 pin model. IFE system is ok but need more content like Emirates.

Do they provide you with headphones or do you need your own? Also, would you say that the headrest is soft enough to sleep on or do you need those novelty air-line pillows.

when your about to land, a video is going to show up on your screen, watch the video it will tell you what to do. If your transfering, just jet on the bus and get off where the yellow economy sign is on the terminal. In addition, on your boarding pass it will tell you that you are economy class. I traveled from JFK--DOH on 6/26/12. It was a outstanding flight.

Ok so I will be getting off at the transfer terminal.. so is it like a place you enter for check in or something? can you explain what happened to you when you got on the bus and when you got off the at the transfer terminal?

Well know they don't explain to take the bus. When you get to Doha they have the premium transfer terminals and the terminal if transferring on Economy.

Hey I got a question for you since you have experienced it.. Im travelling to indian will be taking Qatar from JFK as well from New York.. now when you arrive at qatar.. does someone explain to take the bus, they lead you to the bus? when you arrive at the transfer/departure terminal which is to take connecting flight.. in my case to India where do you go?
