Sleeping pods make a debut at Abu Dhabi airport. Airports have never been known for their comfortable sleeping arrangements, but all of that could change. Sleeping pods have been installed at the Abu Dhabi International airport. They're chairs that flatten out into beds and have a garage-door type closure that seals you in and protects you from noise and passers by. Future models are planned to include Internet access, chargers, and luggage storage. The mini-utopias rent out for 12 dollars an hour, payable via credit card. Officially called "GoSleep" pods, 10 of the Finnish-designed shelters have already been installed with 35 more anticipated later in the year. Reviews have been mixed with one travel agent citing the pod's cost and size as deterrents. Another hailed the sleep option as being a good thing considering how often airline passengers get stranded in airports. If you need an airport snooze, but don't happen to be in Abu Dhabi, The Guide to Sleeping in Airports website offers a few tips. The site recommends that you try to sleep in the range of surveillance cameras, wear sunglasses in case sleeping isn't allowed, and pack plenty of disinfectant wipes.
