Check out the space hotel proposal for Barcelona. Developers have pitched a unique hotel idea to officials in Barcelona. The concept is "space travel" and amenities would include a zero gravity spa. Los Angeles and Hong Kong are also on the list of preferred future sites. The 984-foot hotel would be built "Dubai-style" -- that is, on its own manmade island. The Space Hotel project was proposed by an international association led by the US's Mobilona. According to the company's list of promises to future guests, Hotel walls would be replaced with displays showing fantasy simulations, and the company promises future guests can "Travel to any place on earth or in the universe and see and do anything you want to do..." The nearly 2 billion dollar project would also include a round the clock mall and yacht marina. The 2000 rooms will likely start at about 400 dollars a night. It remains to be seen whether the project comes to fruition or not. Barcelona's mayor doesn't feel the project is right for the image of the city. What do you think of the concept?
