Happen to be visiting Taipei 101 when the tremors from the earthquake in Sichuan was felt in Taipei..The damper is 660 ton in weight suspedend on the 92 floor to 87 floor..

No, he's right. Taipei101's structural and engineering was done by a New York-based firm Thorton Tomasetti. Construction was done by the Korean firm Sansung C&T Corporation (who's also responsible for the Petronas Towers, and the Burj Khalifa).
