Elizabeth is Assistant Professor of Art and Design at Zayed University in Dubai and an interdisciplinary artist and designer who uses the internet, public spaces, electronic noise, video and performance. She is the Founder and Director of the Society for Cultural Exchange and Principal and Co-Founder of the Land Art Generator Initiative, both of which focus on multidisciplinary collaboration. Her work has been screened an exhibited in Algeria, France, Dubai, Russia, Serbia, Finland, and Armenia. She received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Robert is a licensed architect with a background in New Urbanism and Traditional Neighborhood Design. He is Principal and Co-Founder of the Land Art Generator Initiative and Co-Founder of Studied Impact Design. Based in the United Arab Emirates, he has consulted on MASDAR City and the ADNOC headquarters and his work has been highlighted in the New York Times and Dwell Magazine. His current focus is on buildings and public spaces that go above and beyond current popular notions of sustainability. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
