SOUNDBITE(English) Matthew Green, UAE market analyst: "With the Burj Dubai within the whole kind of area, everything is obviously based on the opening of the tallest tower towards the end of the year and I think we can kind of Largely look at this as a bit of an anomaly within the market, that can demand for, to have that prime development, to have something that is so different within the market and we'll be the tallest tower for years to come. I think it's really making it just a bit different within the current market. 33. Tilt down sandy coloured buildings and flowerbed 34. Mid of cars driving past 35. Building with verandas 36. Anxious to keep heads above water despite the current crisis, business leaders in Dubai are looking forward to the December opening of the tower. STORYLINE: The tower is proving to be more price-resilient than other buildings, with its two-bedroom apartments selling for over $1.6m each. Investors hope tourists will be attracted to Dubai by one of the world's most prestigious square kilometres. Built in the centre of a 500-acre site named Downtown Burj Dubai, the record breaking tower cost over $19.4 (b)illion to guarantee the exclusivity craved by investors. Property developers Emaar are one of the world's largest real estate companies. The 2,684ft (818m) tall building has taken over 5 years to complete and the expectations are high. Andrew Chambers, managing director of Asteco, an UAE-based property consultancy says that Dubai has been less affected by the crisis than its neighbours: "Since the world has had its financial problems some countries have gone into recession, this is one area where a lot of the development dreams have actually happened. And what we're finding is, whilst prices have been dropping everywhere across the Middle East, this is one area where they're consistently higher than they are in a lot of other areas."
