Why is it that tobacco, which poses an enormous health risk & is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths a year, is legal whilst cannabis, a substantially less dangerous substance is illegal?

Australia has a $500-dollar tax on a KILO of tobacco I am going to do the math for you a cigarette has about a gram of tobacco in it which equates to a .50 cent tax per cigarette. This equates to a tax of $10 per pack $100 per carton. This is before any local taxes, production cost, etc. .......They are having a problem with Asian gangs bringing in raw tobacco and selling it on the black market.

It's not the tobacco that's dangerous to one's health but the way it is processed. Were it not for the 100+ poisonous substances they add to cigarettes, in the filler itself, in the paper and filters..then tobacco is quite a pleasant hobby and can be even a healthy one. That's the drama that this thing is done on purpose, the tobacco is adulterated and turned into a deadly substance, only because the retardism of capitalism encourages hungry CEO's to do so, to increase profits.
Have not the native indians used to tobacco for smoking since forever ? and they smoke that thing out of a big wood pipe all day long. But I doubt you'll find a single case where a native indian ever died of lung cancer linked to his daily tobacco smoking. -
