Welcome to my first trip report, which is of my flight from London Heathrow (LHR) to Dubai International (DXB) aboard Qantas Flight QF10 which was operated by VH-OQD a Airbus A380-842 On April 11th we awoke and began our final day overseas. Our flight was set to depart at 1pm and check in would open at 9am, we were off to Terminal 3 on one of the many shuttle buses that travel around the airport outskirts. QF9/10 along with QF1/2 are the only Qantas flights operating all the way from Australia to London direct with a stopover in Dubai and these routes have come under scrutiny. The first leg as shown in this video from London to Dubai was 1/3 full, I didn’t have any trouble getting 4 seats to myself and half way through the flight there was still seats left over. Shortly after takeoff we were met with complimentary drinks which are always nice, shortly after this we were given our first meal which was Lunch. I chose the Thyme roasted Chicken Salad with wheat berry, beetroot and carrot. Overall the meal was very tasty and I’d rate it a 8.5/10. Good job Qantas! The other meal was not so flash. We were served around 1 hour before landing in Dubai a Spiced Lamb Calzone which resulted in me getting excruciating stomach pains. I wouldn’t recommend this meal and would rate it a 2/10. In Conclusion the flight was pleasant however far from perfect. The crew as usual were kind and lovely with the exception of a few. Unfortunately I wasn't unable to create a trip report for the Dubai - Melbourne leg due to the shades being down for 12 of the 14 hours.
