We are responsible for the gathering and broadcasting of news and current affairs.The department is the state’s largest broadcast news organization and generates about 120 hours of television output each day, as well as online news coverage. The service maintains 13 local news bureaus and has correspondents in almost every area of the district. Since 2002, television operators are telecasting our news though are due to move to the newly refurbished new Studio & Broadcasting House in Pavamani road,Calicut from December 2012 onwards. Television Centre houses all domestic, global, and online news divisions within one main office. Parliamentary coverage is produced and broadcast from the same studio. It has been accused of political bias from across the political spectrum. In 2012, Kozhikode jillavarthakal celebrated 10 years of television news broadcasts. Kozhikode jillavarthakal journalists, cameramen, and programs have won awards over the years for reporting, particularly from the television media industry as well as news analyzers.
