Vaastav The Reality is a 1999 Hindi crime drama written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and starring Sanjay Dutt and Namrata Shirodkar. It also features Sanjay Narvekar, Mohnish Behl, Paresh Rawal, Reema Lagoo and Shivaji Satam in supporting roles. "The Reality" as described by the film's tagline, refers to the harsh realities of life in the Mumbai underworld. The film is said to be loosely based on the life of Mumbai underworld gangster Chota Rajan.

In my Opinion there are some Movies in Bollywood whose Opening Scenes are so Powerful and Deep that it makes the Viewer Spellbound and Extremely Curious as to what he/she will expect from the Movie as it Progresses from Scene to Scene and without Doubt VAASTAV is such a Movie .Just Look at the Opening when the Titles appear , it is Simply Astounding with the powerful background Music . Another such Movie which has such an Opening is SATYA. Thankful to Sandeep Chowta for the Astonishing Music and Kudos to Mahesh Manjrekar and Ram Gopal Varma for giving us Such Movies. Totally Worth the Money spent in watching such Powerful Movies with some Splendid Acting.

I have watched this movie more than 50 times in 15 years time. Incredible Acting from Sanju. Such an inspiration to the upcoming younger artists. This kind of movie is a very very rare occasion. I salute baba for his acting and contributions in the Bollywood industry. Such a turning point in his career.
